WIPA Meeting in La Jolla

WIPA Meeting in La Jolla

November’s WIPA meeting in La Jolla was a lovely opportunity for the Los Angeles/Orange County group to escape for a few hours to the wonderful La Jolla Woman’s Club in La Jolla, California, just steps from the ocean.Guests gathered on the front lawn to chat while they sipped on One Hope Wine and enjoyed a variety of cheese.  Once escorted into the ballroom, Fair Trade was the topic of the evening.  Rrivre Davies shared his five laws for Fair Trade in the wedding industry: fair publicity, fair submissions, fair photography, fair pricing & fair credit. This talk was quite a hot topic for the group with a discussion afterwards on morals and ethics within the industry.

After questions, everyone split off to the different dinner stations showcased by Continental Catering. The vegetable carving station was a big hit with the group. Another great WIPA meeting to add to the books!

PROGRAM:

Since creating the “laws” of Fair Trade and declaring his company to be Fair Trade, vendor Rrivre Davies, event designer and owner of Rrivre Works, has seen a marked increase in business. His five principals of working ethically and transparently have spread among the top wedding professionals with whom he works and Fair Trade is shaping up to be one of the hottest topics for 2013.

During this lively, interactive discussion you will discover how you too can increase your business by working with more transparency. It will also place you on the ground floor with WIPA as we use this session to generate a White Paper on such topics as: fair pricing practices; a definition of terms such as fees, markups and commissions; giving credit where credit is due; and how to get this message out to the industry and the end user.

It’s time for straight talk that will create a better, more sustainable future for this industry and your company. Come to the session and:

Identify and discuss the external obstacles holding you back from success in regards to Fair Trade

•••

Find out how bringing Fair Trade to the forefront of your marketing efforts will increase your bottom line

•••

Be on the ground floor of today’s most important discussion and the launch of a “Fair Trade” groundswell

•••

Plus! Everyone who attends this session and endeavors to abide by the laws of fair trade will get a Fair Trade logo and the five principals of Fair Trade to use on their website and other marketing material.
