Kelly and Veronica’s Wish Upon a Wedding

Wish Upon a Wedding has created a beautiful ceremony and reception for Kelly and Veronica! The ceremony and reception took place at Serra Plaza in San Juan Capistrano, where friends and family joined the couple in celebrating their love. Wish Upon a Wedding is a nonprofit organization that provides weddings and vow renewals to couples facing terminal illness and serious life altering circumstances, regardless of sexual orientation. The organization was created to celebrate the courage, determination and spirit of these couples by granting their dream wedding Wishes. Their hope is that chosen recipients can inspire other couples facing similar situations to find hope and strength.

Kelly was diagnosed with a brain cancer called glioblastoma in May after being hospitalized with excruciating headaches. Glioblastoma, or GBM, is one of the most destructive forms of cancer and Kelly has a gene known as Li-Fraumeni syndrome, that puts people at a very high risk for cancer. This gene runs in Kelly’s family and has taken the lives of his mother, grandmother and three uncles.

Kelly’s doctors have estimated that he will have 18 months to live with chemotherapy and radiation treatment. But Kelly is a positive person who is committed to fighting the disease. He plans to live a long life with his wife and their six children.

When most people receive a diagnosis of a terminal illness, they are worried about things like life insurance and if there are companies who will make life insurance available to them even if they have college debt, mortgages, spouses and children etc (this article describes one provider which might). However, Veronica and Kelly had marriage on their mind. The wedding ceremony and reception were important to them, not only to express their love and devotion to each other, but also to create loving memories for their children to have forever. So much planning went into making their big day one to remember. Something that Veronica was recommended to do was to rent a tux, as this meant he had more control over the design and the fit of the outfit. Every little detail was important to the couple and so it should be for every wedding. To capture this magical moment, they hired
Marianne Lozano, a prominent wedding photographer in Los Angeles, was there to capture these treasured moments for the Haro family. Also, The Perfect Wedding Video company was at the event to capture these great moments on video. The venue was beautiful and the bride looked stunning in her wedding dress. She searched multiple beverly hills dress stores until she found the perfect one, and it was a great day!g

Paula Laskelle of Champagne Taste created a lovely ceremony and reception in a color palette of brown, beige, cream, white and light blue, with the help of many talented vendors who donated their time, money and services to make Kelly and Veronica’s dream wedding become a reality.
