La Fete is a full service design and coordination company based in Santa Barbara, California. Colette and Kaitlin Lopez, a mother-daughter team, have been planning elegant and timeless weddings for over 15 years. Colette and Kaitlin realized that they needed a website that reflected the style, confidence, creativity and professionalism they bring to their work and they came to us for help. Being able to design an effective and successful website is a difficult task, which is why people such as Colette and Kaitlin turn to professionals to help them achieve their vision. As always, the first step to achieving a great website is having good web hosting, which can often be found at places similar to Hostiserver Website Server Hosting. This can allow a website to hit the ground running and provide a basis for a great site.
We met with Colette and Kaitlin at their beautiful home office in Santa Barbara to discuss their needs and decide on an overall look and feel for the website that would communicate their style perfectly. We also created a plan for their site’s structure and designed a comprehensive site map before beginning the project. We knew that we needed to create a site that was beautiful, but it also needed to be practical and search engine optimized.
We decided on a color palette of various shades of taupe with touches of a light greyish blue. Together, we chose photos of some of their best work to feature in a slider gallery on the homepage, embellished with vine graphics on either side of each photo.
The We Did section of La Fete‘s new website features 14 of their most beautiful weddings in various styles like Coral Cabana, Blush and Lace and Vintage Hollywood. Each wedding features a testimonial and several beautiful photos of the wedding. The custom sidebar features an Image widget, which contains a small logo that links to the homepage, and a Better Blogroll widget that feeds the We Did posts and is set to show custom graphics.
From here, visitors can also access the video page to see edited wedding films for some of La Fete‘s best weddings.
Press is important. La Fete‘s They Said page is all about showing off the press they’ve received over the years. We created an Issuu magazine-style portfolio of press for visitors to browse through. We think this is an important element to a website and it gives instant credibility to guests who are not informed about what you’ve done and the positive attention you’ve received.
La Fete’s RSVP page was a lot of work and we think it was worth it! This is no ordinary, boring contact page; it’s a highly customized and elegant way to get information from your website visitors and show that you are dedicated to the details.
Ooh La La La Fete
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again…a blog is important for two very good reasons: SEO (as is often discussed by Nathan Gotch) and to show brides to be what you’ve been working on lately. Having that content makes Google more likely to rate your website higher as it seems like a more organic entity. Give your blog a catchy name that relates to your brand and start blogging about what you know. La Fete‘s blog features another slider of images at the top, followed by a Welcome Area where Colette and Kaitlin introduce themselves. All graphics on the blog were custom-designed for La Fete, including the social media buttons, blog separators and background images.
