Along with Joshua and Karris – Pharris Photos Head Photographers – capturing the love between couples, they love giving back any way possible. Participating in local charity events, is something near and dear to their hearts especially a charity like KidsRStrong2.
Joshua and Kariss have been huge supporters of KidsRStrong2, a non-profit organization that focuses on establishing programs, funding research, and providing scholarships for survivors. As fairly recent parents, they feel strongly that it is important to bring awareness and support to childhood cancer, and other life-threatening illnesses, that are impacting the lives of children daily.
Pharris Photos captured the fun the pediatric cancer patients had at MD Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital.
KidsRStrong2, also known as KRS2, is a 501(c)(3) public charity that was founded in April 2013 in honor of Isaiah Gamble. At the age of 3, Isaiah was diagnosed with Pleuropulmonary Blastoma (PPB), Type 3. Upon his diagnosis he immediately underwent surgery to remove the tumor and received 12 rounds of chemotherapy, along with 25 rounds of radiation, prior to beginning his journey of living life post-therapy.
Here is an image Pharris Photos captured during the family’s photoshoot of KRS2 President & Founder, Tomika Gamble, with son Isaiah. KidsRStrong2 was founded in honor of Isaiah.
Throughout Isaiah’s battle, the family received an array of support from numerous individuals, local businesses and organizations. The Gamble family decided to pay it forward and ensure that Isaiah’s diagnosis was not in vain, by becoming a blessing to others during their time of need.
KidsRStrong2 has a goal of bringing research, programs, and scholarships together. It is essential that cures are found, that families are supported, and that children are given the opportunity to fulfill their dreams, especially after battling a life-threatening illness. It is through events and people getting together for the greater good to bring awareness that has assisted the charity and saved lives!
