We are thrilled to see Sara and Matthew’s speakeasy celebration featured in the latest print issue of California Wedding Day!
Sara and Matthew met in Los Angeles when Sara’s best friend introduced them during a Cal-USC football game (go Bears!). After four years of dating and living LA and San Francisco, Matthew finally proposed just before they left on a four-month trip to Italy. Sara had always wanted a black diamond (which are surprisingly hard to find) and Matthew surprised her by having one made by designer Itay Malkin.
The Estate on Second was previously a Southern California gas building that was used as a secret prohibition-era establishment for local libations. Staying true to the building’s history, Sara and Matthew went with a speak-easy theme highlighted with moody colors, dim lighting, nostalgic music and whiskey.
With the help of Perfectly Poised Events, Sara and Matt’s wedding was nothing short of fun for their wedding guests. The Estate on Second provided the perfect backdrop for this eclectic celebration. The overall design featured turquoise and burgundy that added to the character of the venue. A farm table setup and taco bar allowed for a fun reception. The couple brought the fun for their guests with giant games of cornhole (including a custom board) and chess.
